The Long Wool Sofa by Nersi Nasseri

It’s winter, it’s cold..  We just dream to curl up in a blanket and hop on the sofa, waiting for spring to arrive (don’t worry, we won’t ever tell if you happen to sleep through it)! The long wool sofa, with its unique design by Nersi Nasseri, who works at SENTIENT Furniture is the perfect help you can get in this initiative.

The sofa provides a versatility in contrast with the geometric and rigid structure

Warmth, comfort and maybe a little Chewbacca inspiration, well not technically, but who cares about technicalities, is all you might need this winter. This sofa features a base constructed from reclaimed American oak boards, and has been drenched in what appears to be actual wookiee skin, although it’s actually long wool Icelandic sheepskin.

Extremely soft to the touch!

The Long Wool Sofa is more than a sofa—viewed from any angle, it is guaranteed to provoke a reaction. It has an original design using Icelandic long wool contrasted against American reclaimed oak – if they could speak, what stories would these boards tell? The wool is chaotic, wild and extremely soft. The hair falls in all directions, resulting in an array of warm beige, brown and golden colors.

A solid ancient oak structure

The antique Reclaimed Oak used for this sofa is prized for its strong, prominent grain and rich array of colors ranging from blonde to nutty brown tones. It has a unique variety of character including worm holes, checks, cracks, knots and nail holes created in its previous life. This combination creates a stunning and distinguished Old World look.

Striking color variety

The Icelandic sheep is a breed of domestic sheep. The Icelandic is a mid-sized breed, generally short and stocky, with face and legs free of wool. The fleece of the Icelandic sheep is dual-coated and comes in white as well as a variety of other colors, including a range of browns, grays and blacks. Icelandic sheepskins come in many colors and are not dyed.  The variety of colors inherent within the sheep often makes articles made from Icelandic sheep skin quite striking.

Awesome cushions that blend with the sofa design

And most importantly the sheepskin is extremely soft to the touch and will keep you warm all through the winter season, and let’s be real –  it would look completely bad ass in any bachelor pad!
